Experienced banking executive joins kompasbank’s Board of Directors

Steen Blaafalk brings decades of leadership experience from Danske Bank and Saxo Bank to his new role on the board of kompasbank a/s.

At kompasbank’s Annual General Meeting, Steen Blaafalk was elected as the newest member of the bank’s Board of Directors. He replaces Johan Lorenzen, who has stepped down after 4.5 years of service. With Blaafalk, the bank strengthens its expertise in risk management, governance, strategy, and international expansion.

Steen Blaafalk has held senior leadership roles in the financial sector for decades — including as Group CFRO at Saxo Bank and previously as Group Treasurer and CEO of Danske Bank Markets. Today, he serves as a professional board member and advisor.

Blaafalk’s experience spans regulation, risk management, international growth, and M&A — both in Denmark and abroad. His deep knowledge of banking operations and governance is seen as a key strength as kompasbank continues to grow and expand internationally in the years ahead.
